But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

THE BAD NEWS

"we were still sinners"

This verse tells us that we are sinners. Sin is any act of disobedience to God, and we all have done that. Because of this sin, we are at our worst and undeserving of love.

THE GOOD NEWS

"But God shows his love for us"

God chose to show us His incredible love. He reached out to us with compassion.

"while we were still sinners"

Christ loved us while we were still sinners. While we are at our worst and undeserving of love.

"Christ died for us"

And He has shown this love for us when Christ died for us. Jesus had to die for our sins to be forgiven and for our relationship with our loving God be restored. But He rose again, proving that He has defeated sin.

Now, anyone who will believe in what Jesus has done on the cross will receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life (John 3:16). When we do so, we will be able to experience the overflowing, everlasting love that Jesus has for us.

TRUE LOVE CAN ONLY BE FOUND IN GOD
